Not Liverpool-centric except I do think it's very Europe-centric. But I
couldn't think of any events outside the continent that should make
the list probably due to my own ignorance. But for the sake of
another situation check:
Asia - Nothing notable apart from Australia joining the AFC. Just the
usual suspects qualifying for the WC and making little noise.
